Many Jersey residents commute into New York for work, fun and simply to visit cultural landmarks. From Central Park to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, there are many things to see and do. Unfortunately, for some New Jersey residents, travelling into New York means an increased risk of being involved in a crash. Road safety is important, but with high rates of congestion and inattentive drivers, sometimes no amount of safe driving can prevent an accident and a multi-car crash can lead to a spinal cord injury or permanent disability.
A multiple-car crash in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn injured seven people, including four children. The crash happened after 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. New York authorities are investigating the crash. Two adults were hurt and one was taken to the hospital. Three of children had minor injuries, and one was serious yet not life-threatening.
An accident on the road with loved ones can be scary. Whether a New Jersey resident is spending time with the family or commuting to and from work, an accident can lead to significant long-term medical care. If another person causes this injury, he or she may be liable for damages. Compensation may be sought through a lawsuit. The New Jersey legal system can be complicated, so it’s important to be familiar with the law before pursuing a reward for damages.
If a third party is responsible for an accident, the victim may get additional compensation. A car or truck accident can lead to extensive surgery and long-term rehabilitation. But even a simple car crash can reverberate symptoms in an individual for years or throughout a lifetime. Being compensated at the present can offset high bills, lost income and high levels of pain. It can help put families back on track. It can also help make sure irresponsible drivers are held accountable for their negligent actions.
