Lyndhurst ambulance crash injures five

Posted May 30, 2014

On behalf of Morris, Downing & Sherred, LLP posted in Car Accidents on Friday, May 30, 2014.

A wild New Jersey crash can seriously injure drivers and passengers. While traveling in a vehicle, a crash can happen at any moment. Avoiding a negligent driver is challenging. A sleepy or inattentive driver can cause a serious accident. Once someone is hurt in an accident, the financial toll can add up. It could take months or even years to repay some medical expenses and physical therapy bills. A car accident can change a life forever.

Five people were injured in a multiple car accident in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. According to eyewitnesses, a car hit an ambulance and it led to another car being involved in the accident. The ambulance was traveling quickly to the scene of an accident when it became involved in one as it was hit by another vehicle. All five of the people hurt were brought to the Hackensack University Medical Center. All injuries were non-life-threatening.

People can run into difficulties with insurance companies when claiming reimbursement for medical costs after an accident. If another driver was responsible for the accident due to negligence, they may be another source of compensation. This financial benefit can help pay for medical costs, high treatment rates and a long stay in a hospital. New Jersey residents don’t want to have to bankrupt themselves because a negligent driver hit them.

Reaching a point of normalcy is a key part of the post-accident rehabilitation process. Sometimes that can take weeks or even months. Symptoms can show up later on that were not there originally. A negligent driver may be responsible for additional damages if they were drinking while driving or running through red lights. Even a simple inattentive moment can have devastating consequences.
