New Jersey residents who are following the presidential campaigns may be interested in learning that a staffer for Ben Carson was declared dead following a crash on Jan. 19. Three volunteers were also reportedly injured in the collision.
The accident reportedly occurred in Iowa on I-80 at around 9:45 a.m. The driver of the van that was transporting the staffer and campaign volunteers lost control of the vehicle as he attempted to make a lane change. This caused the van to go through the median, where it collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The three injured volunteers were taken to a nearby hospital where they were examined and released. The staffer died at a separate hospital as a result of his injuries. Carson reportedly suspended his campaign for the next day as a response to the fatal accident. The campaign resumed on Jan. 21.
Car accidents can have a major impact on a person’s life.
