A photograph on social media showed people waiting outside of their vehicles while authorities responded to a collision of 10 vehicles on Aug. 28 on the New Jersey Turnpike. About 15 people reportedly suffered minor injuries. Police have not identified the cause of the accident that took place between Roosevelt Avenue and Goethals Bridge.
One witness said that construction on the Goethals Bridge had already backed up traffic when the crashes started. The driver saw a limousine collide with a Mercedes and start a fire.
Rescue crews spent approximately two hours clearing the accident scene. Their activities blocked the inside lanes of northbound traffic. One of the vehicles caught fire.
A person injured in a multiple-car wreck might need the assistance of an attorney when seeking compensation for medical bills and other losses. An attorney might review the police report about the car accident and look for details of a traffic violation or reckless actions like speeding or texting while driving. An investigator to examine the crash scene and provide testimony for the lawsuit could also be hired by an attorney. As for medical costs, the injured person could consult the attorney about how to tally current and future costs related to the accident. An attorney could inform the person about the types of costs that a negligent driver could be held responsible for. These include medical bills, rehabilitative therapy and lost income. The documentation about the accident and physical and financial damages could be gathered by the attorney and used at trial or in settlement talks.
