New Jersey rap fans may know that Kodak Black has been in the middle of a child support battle for some time. The final orders were recently issued in the case, and Black will have to pay the mother of his 2-year-old son $4,200 per month.
News sources report that the woman accused Black of refusing to turn over his financial information and of claiming he earned much less than he does. The woman asked the judge to detain Black in jail for his alleged refusal to disclose his financial data.
Black will be required to make his monthly child support payments until his son turns 18 in 2033. In addition, the court named him as the boy’s legal father and required him to pay for the boy’s dental insurance, medical insurance and any medical costs that are not covered by insurance.
People who fail to make their court-ordered child support payments may face serious penalties. The courts may hold them in contempt of court and order them to serve jail sentences. People may also lose their driving privileges, have their tax returns seized, lose their passports or have their wages garnished.
