Many New Jersey residents know how hard marriage can be, and that sometimes ending a marriage may be in the best interest of the family as a whole. Like any married couple, celebrities are not immune to divorce, and often the stress of a marriage in the spotlight can hurt even the best marriages.
Last week it was announced that actress Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from her husband actor Antonio Banderas citing irreconcilable differences. The couple has been married for 18 years, which is quite a long time in both celebrity marriages and non-celebrity marriages alike. The couple has a 17-year old daughter. Banderas was often seen publically supporting his wife during her battles with addiction. Griffith is asking for spousal support.
When it comes to divorce, emotions can be high and many couples find that these proceedings can cause a lot of conflict. If children are involved then there can be more issues regarding child support, visitation, property division and more. A family law professional may be able to help a person through the divorce process. Each family is unique and no two divorces are alike, but consulting with professionals can help speed up the process and help couples reach an amicable ending.
For many spouses, it can be hard to understand the legal process and the complexities that can surround divorce proceedings. Family law attorneys help their clients by guiding them through the process and having them be an active participant to make sure they receive a fair settlement.
